The Belo Municipality is home to five primary ethnic groups: 1. Koms: The largest ethnic group in the area. 2. Mbessas: Another significant group. 3. Fulanis: A group with a distinct culture and language. 4. Mejungs: A smaller ethnic group in the area. 5. Mejangs: Also part of the local ethnic diversity.
The Cameroon People's (CPDM) has historically dominated the municipal council elections, although the Social Democratic Front (SDF) is also well represented in the municipality
The municipality is predominantly composed ofople. Other significant ethnic groups include the Fulani (Mbororo), Aku, Hausa, Nso, Oku, Meta, Bafut, Kom, and Awing, who have settled in the area over time.
