Creation

Belo Rural Council was created by Presidential Decree No. 93/321 on 25th November 1993, covering the entire subdivision. The Council became operational in 1996 and is currently referred to simply as Belo Council.

Creation: The Belo Rural Council was created by Presidential Decree No. 93/321 on 25th November 1993. This decree established the council as part of the administrative organization of the country.

Operational Status: The Belo Council became operational in 1996. Since its creation, the municipality has been a part of Belo Sub Division in Boyo Division of the North West Region of Cameroon.

Governance: Since its establishment, the Belo Council has been led by three mayors:

Mbeng Johnson: From 17th February 1997 to 21st June 2001.

Mbzighag Isaiah: From 22nd June 2001 to 16th July 2002.

Tosam Bernard Nenghabi: From 17th June 2002 to the present day.
